ABU DHABI, Apr 20 (PRIME) -- Oil Minister of Kuwait Essam Al Marzooq plans to discuss technological cooperation with Russia in oil development during a forthcoming visit to Moscow, he said on Thursday.
“It is planned that our meetings in Russia will cover technological issues, which is why we will hold negotiations with the Industry and the Trade and the Energy ministry of Russia. We have already begun to discuss the topic of technical cooperation with Russia in oil production in general and in the energy sector, we plan to continue the discussion,” Al Marzooq said.
He also said that the meeting can be postponed to July from late May because the Ramadan month will start on May 25.
Deputy Oil Minister Talal Nasser Al-Athbi Al-Sabah said that a meeting of the Russian–Kuwaiti intergovernmental commission will be held in the capital of Kuwait in November.
Kuwait plans to sign an agreement on liquefied natural gas (LNG) supplies with Russian gas giant Gazprom soon, Al Marzooq said.
Russian oil producer Lukoil is discussing a possible agreement with Kuwait to provide technological exploration and development services, Al Marzooq said.
